Tasting notes
A deep garnet in the glass, with an intense nose of black cherry pie, mulberry, and cracked black pepper. On the palate: fresh, ripe dark fruit, black cherry, wild strawberry, layered with dark chocolate and lifted by vibrant natural acidity. The tannins are silky and fine-grained, perfectly integrated, leading to a long and perfumed finish.
A wine of elegance and precision, made for the cellar and the table alike.
The Place: Coombesville AVA
Tucked into the southeastern corner of Napa Valley, Coombsville is Napa's cooler, quieter secret. Volcanic soils, morning fog, and a longer growing season produce wines of genuine complexity, structured and age-worthy, but never heavy.
The 2019 vintage delivered ideal conditions: a mild summer with no heat events, enough soil moisture for optimal ripening, and slightly lower yields that concentrated flavour and power. The result is a wine that carries the full personality of its place.

Vintage Conditions
2019 was only slightly cooler than 2018. The area received a surprisingly heavy amount of rain in May (>70mm in some places), while the remainder of the spring and summer growing season was normal. Summer brought mild weather, with no heat spells and enough moisture in the soil to allow grapes to ripen optimally. October 23rd saw the start of the Kincaid Fire in Sonoma County, forcing our hand at picking. Overall the yields were slightly down from the previous vintage, resulting in more concentrated and powerful wines in 2019 with higher skin to juice ratios.
